John, a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ, wrote a letter (1 John) of
encouragement, teaching, and warning to first century Christians. This letter, intended to
be read when Christians gathered for meetings, is included in God's Word, the Bible. The
purpose of his writing was to correct false teaching and to assure his readers. I write
these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that
you have eternal life (1 John 5:13).

In an age of financial, social, and physical uncertainty,
there are some things we can know for sure . . .
We can know for sure about our relationship with God
- We can know for sure about forgiveness for our sins
- We can know for sure about eternal life
- We can know for sure that we are growing in our faith
